“On behalf of the AUF & Spearo’s everywhere I’m saddened to advise that Merv Sheehan passed away last night, Friday 24/5/13 at Calvary Hospital.
Merv’s funeral will be held Thursday 30th May at 9.00 am at the South Chapel Woronora.
Our deepest Sympathy goes out to Merv’s immediate family & friends.
Much can be said in praise of Merv & the 50 plus years he put into keeping our sport alive, organised & well respected. Merv was a true patriot of Australia, the AUF & the USFA.
I’m sure much will be documented as tributes pour in for Merv who was a proud, loyal member of the St George Dragons Spearfishing Club.
I can truly say that I enjoyed the experience of working with Merv for some 25 years. If anyone would like to speak at Merv’s funeral please let me or Gunther know promptly.”
